Poll Tomahawk

 

 Poll Tomahawk  Hand forged with high carbon bit.  The blade features an aged finish with sterling silver inlays, as well as file work and engraving.  The curly ash handle is accented with two pewter bands and a distressed finish.  Measures 19 inches tall, head is 8 inches long.  SOLD

Square Poll Belt Axes by Nathan Allen   Single ear, 18th century axes with dark handles and aged finish.  All measure approx. 5" x 2 1/4" head with 14 3/4" handle.

Original English Boarding Axes   Axes of the type used by the British Navy.  All have approximately approximately 2 3/4 inch by 7 1/2 inch head with 14 3/4 inch handle.  Bottom axe does have a small chip on the cutting edge.

SOLD - English Axe  A double flared blade with top and bottom ears.  Axe measures 4 3/4 inches long by 3 1/2 inches.  15 inch handle.  Comes with shoulder sheath.

Rifleman's Poll Axe

 

 SOLD - Rifleman's Poll Axe  This beautiful little axe features a head cast in gunmetal bronze.  Reeves Goring made the casting from an original axe.  It has been finely detail filed, hand polished, and aged.  It is fitted with a handle of high-grade, curly maple.  The bronze is quite a bit tougher than regular soft brass and would be suitable for light work.  Axe measures 20 inches tall, head is 6 1/4 inches long.

SOLD - Rifleman's Axe  After looking at several original axes, one thing becomes clear, many of these were quite small, intended for dismembering game and light camp chores.  With that in mind, this axe is correctly sized, with the head measuring 5 1/4 inches x 2 inch cutting edge, hafted to a 13 1/2 inch handle. 

Pipe Tomahawk

SOLD - Hand Forged Pipe Tomahawk  Head forged from a rifle barrel with hardened steel bit welded in for the cutting edge.  This hawk features extensive file work, an exceptional curly maple handle, and pewter inlay.  Carved antler plug caps off the handle at the top.  Aged finish.  Axe measures 18 1/4 inches tall, head is 6 7/8 inches long by a 2 3/8 inch cutting edge.

Pipe Tomahawks

SOLD - Pipehawk A  R. E. Davis casting that has been completely re-forged with extensive file-work.  The fully functional hawk features a premium curly maple handle with cast pewter bands and mouthpiece.  Top plug is carved from a piece of antler.  Hawk head measures 6 3/4 inches by 2 1/2 inches.  18 inches overall height.

SOLD - BELT AXE - Very similar to one shown on page 258 of George Neuman's Swords and Blade of the American Revolution, it is a substantial square-poll axe with flared blade.  Head measures approx. 5 inches long, with a 2 1/2 " cutting edge.  Fitted with a quality, straight grain hickory handle with dark finish.  Handle length 13 1/4 inches.  $150
